Rev. Fr. Martin D. (Marty) Watt
Chief Financial Officer
Fr. Marty joined OCCIF after a 25 year career in healthcare administration and finance. An accountant by training, and holding Certified Public Accountant licensure in two states, Fr. Marty also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master of Divinity from St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary.
Fr. Marty was ordained a deacon in 2008 in the Orthodox Church in America Diocese of the Midwest, and ordained to the Holy Priesthood in 2012. Fr. Marty currently serves as Priest-in-Charge of Holy Transfiguration Parish, a mission under the omophorion of Bishop Alexander (Golitsin) of Toledo and the Bulgarian Diocese of the OCA, in Ames, Iowa.
Fr. Marty served as the Chair of the Audit Committee of the OCA from 2009 to 2011 and currently serves as the clergy representative to the Metropolitan Council of the OCA from the Bulgarian Diocese. Fr. Marty also serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Primary Health Care, Inc., a Federally-qualified Community Health Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Fr. Marty and his wife Candice have a married daughter and a high-school aged son. In his non-existent spare time, Fr. Marty enjoys Amateur Radio, travel, and watching baseball, hockey, and soccer.
